In my "Spare Time", I like to do many things. I love to read books, Nora Roberts of course; I love to play sports, just joined a women's volleyball league; I love to play and hang out with the kids, after all, I am a mommy right? I love to play gardener, just put down fresh sod in the front yard, have beautiful flowers, and very large garden too; love to try new things, like ride the dirt bike!
However, lately I have no spare time, and this is why:
This is only a very small amount of my Romas, just the beginning of a long blanching and peeling process. Then I have to do the Celebrities, the Champions, the list goes on and on.
Then of course, comes the cleaning and chopping of the secondary vegetables. Can't forget the onions, green peppers, and the celery. Then you put them all together, and what have you got? That's right! Stewed tomatoes!
Before they are processed. After they are processed. Aren't they pretty!?! They look almost Christmas-y!
By the way.......This was the first time that I have ever canned anything all by myself! I have always had the help of my Mom or DH's GramaZ. So I am very proud of myself and was happy to give up some spare time to accomplish something this great on my own!

YUMMMY!!!
great job!!
Thanks for visiting my place. Well, I am very impressed at your to do list in this post AND you can tomatoes? Wow! I have never canned anything but it seems like alot of steps. Do you still have to boil lids and jars? Anyway, kudos to you for going it alone with that project!!!
In addition to all of this that Katie has going on, I've also taken up plenty of her time. She has been helping me plenty. How nice it is to have my Sis close by!!!
Hooray for canning!
I tend to make spaghetti sauce or salsa because I just don't know what to do with whole tomatoes!
What do you make with your stewed tomatoes?
Hey...miss MUMMY MURMURINGS Aren't you cool.
Two of your commenters I don't even recognize. YOU DID that on your own.
And I don't think that weird NONI one has ever commented on mine...hmmmm?
